PRESENT TENSE

Present Simple:
Meaning: Talks about habits, general truths, or regular actions.
Keywords: every day, always, often, usually
Format: base form / s/es for third person
Examples:
I drink coffee every morning.
She works in a hospital.
Does she drink coffee every morning?

Present Continuous:
Meaning: Talks about actions happening now or around now.
Keywords: now, right now, currently
Format: is/am/are + verb-ing
Examples:
She is reading a book.
Is she reading a book now?

Present Perfect:
Meaning: Actions that happened before now; exact time is not important.
Keywords: already, yet, just, ever, never
Format: has/have + past participle
Examples:
I have finished my homework.
Has she finished her homework?

Present Perfect Continuous:
Meaning: Action started in the past and is still happening.
Keywords: for, since
Format: has/have + been + verb-ing
Examples:
I have been studying for 2 hours.
Has he been studying for 2 hours?

PAST TENSE

Past Simple:
Meaning: Talks about completed actions in the past.
Keywords: yesterday, last night, ago, in 2005
Format: verb-ed / irregular past
Examples:
I watched a movie.
Did she watch a movie?

Past Continuous:
Meaning: Shows an action that was happening at a specific moment in the past.
Keywords: while, when
Format: was/were + verb-ing

Uses and Examples:
1. Action happening at a specific time in the past:
He was driving to work at 8 AM.
Explanation: He started driving before 8 AM and was still driving at that moment.

2. Two actions happening at the same time in the past:
I was reading while she was drawing.
Explanation: Both actions were in progress at the same time.

3. A longer action interrupted by a shorter action:
They were eating dinner when the power went out.
Explanation: The eating started first; the power outage interrupted it.

Past Perfect:
Meaning: Talks about an action that happened before another past action.
Keywords: for, since, before, when, by the time, until/till, already, just
Format: had + past participle
Example:
She had left before the movie started.
Explanation: She left first, then the movie started later.

Past Perfect Continuous:
Meaning: Shows an action that was happening for a while before another past action.
Keywords: for, since, before, when, by the time, until/till, how long, just/ already
Format: had + been + verb-ing
Example:
He had been studying for 2 hours when he arrived.
Explanation: He started studying earlier and was still studying up until someone arrived.

FUTURE TENSE

Future Simple:
Meaning: Talks about actions that will happen.
Keywords: tomorrow, later, next week
Format: will + base verb
Examples:
I will call you tomorrow.
Will she call you tomorrow?

Future Continuous:
Meaning: Talks about an action that will be happening at a certain future time.
Keywords: this time tomorrow, later, soon
Format: will be + verb-ing
Examples:
I will be studying at 5 PM.
Will he be studying at 5 PM?

Future Perfect:
Meaning: Talks about an action that will be completed before a certain time in the future.
Keywords: by, before
Format: will have + past participle
Examples:
I will have finished by 6 PM.
Will she have finished by 6 PM?

Future Perfect Continuous:
Meaning: Focuses on the duration of an action that will be continuing up to a future point.
Keywords: for, since, by the time
Format: will have been + verb-ing
Examples:
I will have been working for 5 hours.
Will he have been working for 5 hours?
